Beet & Spinach Smoothie

What's good for the gut is good for the brain. Beets, blueberry and spinach are all excellent for cognitive function, while flax seeds and banana make sure you stay full. The beet powder definitely has an earthy sweetness, so you don't need much more sugar than the banana and blueberries.


- 2 C spinach leaves
- 1 frozen banana (i wait till bananas get too ripe to eat, peal it and freeze each separately in a ziploc bag specifically for my smoothie game)
- 1/2 TB ground flax seed (flax can be a hard thing for your body to get used to, so start with a half TB and you can always add more)
- 1/4 C frozen blueberries
- 1 TB beet root powder
- 1 C water
- 1/2 C milk of choice


- blend everything together. That's all.
